Fullbore shooting

With regular bookings at Bisley throughout the summer months, members can shoot full-bore at distances from 300 to 1,000 yards using 7.62mm rifles. Instruction is available to enable members to obtain the National Rifle Association’s required competency qualification.

In addition to Club competitions, many members also enter major competitions at Bisley, including the annual Imperial Meeting, which attracts shooters from around the world. The most prestigious event is the Queen’s Prize, where the winner is carried from the range, in a chair, in a procession led by a brass band.

Since 1946, we have been well represented in the Finals of the King’s or Queen’s Prize, with a Windsor member winning the coveted prize in 2009. Several members have represented, and even captained England and Great Britain teams.
